We are looking for a ninja fullstacker to assist us with the product development of digital identity as an infrastructure.


Diwala is an all-encompassing SaaS platform that allows our customers to hold, verify, and issue any digital credential in the world.

We stand strong in our belief that SSI - Self-Sovereign Identity - is one of the keys to solving how we store and share our information more efficiently and securely.

The challenge that we all need to work towards as we see it, is to find good ways to bridge the current systems that are in place in the world today - with our ideal future self-sovereign Identity vision. Digital transformation happens step by step, and we need to make sure that people follow along and understand the tools we build and the value of them - and not create further divides. That is one thing Diwala always has focused on and will always keep doing.

Years of competence / Experience needed for this position: Mid-Senior level (Minimum 4 years of relevant experience is a goal post, but we evaluate everyone who can prove themselves worthy of the competencies needed).

Competencies:
Typescript, Node.js, Google Cloud Infrastructure, Postgres SQL, MongoDB, Terraform, React, Graph QL, Next JS, tRPC and Firebase.

Nice to have & willing to learn:
SSI - Self Sovereign Identity Standards, W3C credential data model, DID data model, decentralized architecture.

Education:
Education is not a must, but it helps if you have a master's in computer science or similar fields.

Your responsibilities as Diwala´s new Software Developer will be:

  • Develop further features in the Diwala platform and the digital identity wallet we provide.
  • Participate in moving the team towards a clear strategy of identity as an infrastructure.
  • Maintain the Diwala platform and handle bug fixes for potential errors. 
  • Develop credential templates for organizations that onbards the platform. 
  • Focus on the market at hand, which is West and East Africa.

Who are we?
We are a remote team, with members from Kenya, Sri Lanka, and Norway. Being a remote/distributed company means we need to stay innovative in our processes, gathering user insights, despite not always being able to meet them physically. We hold digital workshops and find smart solutions for insight and understanding, to build the best product we can!

If your application is successful you will be invited in for a virtual interview, where we will give some technical tasks. Based on your submission you will be invited in for a second interview, whereafter we will make a final decision.

We are looking for a contractor who is available for the next 3 months and can start working in November 2024. The work will be project-based. Salary is competitive and negotiable, based on deliverables.
